Herd Sires
Build Your Profit With the Breed-Leading Herd Sires at Huth Polled Herefords
Our Hereford herd sires are essential to breeding daughters who fulfill our cattle philosophy. We choose bulls for the program who exhibit the EPD “spread,” meaning they have a below-average birth weight, above-average yearling weight, and above-average milk compared with the rest of the breed.
All bulls are DNA tested and have genomic-enhanced EPDs (GE-EPDs) to give you more accuracy in your selection. Compared with an average bull, a Huth bull should give you:
- More calves: Our bulls are breed leaders for calving ease and low birth weights.
- More pounds: Our bulls’ EPDs rank in the upper end of the Hereford breed for weaning weight and yearling weight.
- More premiums: Huth bulls rank in the upper end for both rib eye area (REA) and marabling. This assures that their offspring will hit the premium grid!
- Fewer problems: Our bulls are bred for fewer problems at calving, are backed by cows with excellent udders, are breed leaders for scrotal size, and have that great Hereford disposition.
